LAURIE M.Z. LUNDY |
I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and lived in several cities throughout the province. The early years saw a Native North American influence in my art, until moving to Montreal, Quebec, where that exploration evolved further. Also intermingled were elements of abstract expressionism, cubism, and caricature.

Aside from the usual student predicament of slavish summer jobs to help support my school costs (English at McGill University, and Acting at The National Theatre School of Canada), during these years I held numerous exhibitions of my art in basement bistros, underground cafes, and small but popular private galleries. I even managed to sell some existing, as well as commissioned works.

Since those days I have continued on in the same vein -- exhibiting in juried and group shows, art festivals, painting sets for the theatre (even designing costumes and make-up), creating posters, logos, signs, and so on.
To this day I still hand-make my own greeting cards for family and friends.
I currently live in Spartanburg, South Carolina with my husband Duane (a psychology professor), our new baby Duncan, cat Cricket (professional bug hunter), and a ton of needle-dropping pine trees.
